Joshua Beckman was born in New Haven, Connecticut. He is the author of six books, including Take It (Wave Books 2009), Shake (Wave Books, 2006) and Something I Expected To Be Different (Verse Press, 2001); two collections of collaborative work with poet Matthew Rorher; and numerous translations, including of Tomaz Salamun's Poker (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2003).

Joshua has done numerous collaborative performances - recently with the musicians Tyler Gaston and Chris Cogburn. He lives in both Brooklyn and Seattle and is editor at Wave Books.
