MYTH & LOGIC is an adventurous and genre-obliterating new LP from JAWWAAD, which fuses experimental jazz, RnB, Deep Listening, & hip hop into a beautiful new music of resilience and power and truth, recorded between his hometown of Houston TX and Trondheim, Norway. JAWWAAD’s experience with sickle cell anemia and chronic pain, as well as his inward-moving spiritual response to the isolation of the pandemic, informs the music on Myth & Logic.

For No Idea, Jawwaad has assembled an all-star cast of improvisers from Houston, TX and Norway, including double bassist Ingebrigt Flaten.

“As a listener, what blows me away about this record is how many simultaneous styles are happening on nearly every track, like when the beat on Color Theory almost fragments or shatters out of time and then which goes straight into the verses, which layer over fragments of noisy trombone, distorted guitar and chilly, perfect vocoder vocals. No one but JAWWAAD, with his creative openness and his roster of collaborators, could have made anything like this music.”
